DIS, Srinagar lays great emphasis on the importance of school years as the most essential period in learner’s life and firmly believes the phase to be extremely sensitive for one’s growth and development.

Child care and basics with focus on motor skills are nurtured intelligently in a happening world.
The class room environment provides dynamism enabling child to remain happy and involved. The rooms are well decorated and equipped to exude a feeling of belonging
Each class in LPD has two teachers and a female helper in the corridor. Child care and formation of healthy habits become the day-long aim of coordination besides the basic studies.
In this world of the innocents, teachers are constantly involved to groom up the toddlers with care and attention – a chain of interesting activities lead to a variety of discovery and formation of healthy habit enabling the innocent minds absorb the feast of experience.
Learning is fun and always a joyful engagement between the teachers and taught. Though teaching is aided by technology, the focus is always retained on close inter-personal interaction as emotional and mental development gain the ultimate priority.
Creativity is manifested through art, music, puppet shows, indoor activities, story enactment and dramatisation of scripts, role play --- where thoughts, emotions and participation synchronize to build an impressive toddler’s world.
An Activity Centre, the Play Park and Splash Pool provide more than adequate space for leisure, entertainment and relaxation beyond classrooms in the school premises.

There is an astonishing connection between the students, teachers and parents. Parental desire for growth and nourishing development of their wards is fulfilled by teacher’s constant endeavour, facilitated further by an eager band of administrative work force. The teaching in this level is activity based, as play way and role play methods extensively prevail over the system of imparting child education.

From the early morning joy ride to school and till the final departure, little ones just continue bubbling with energy. It’s a toiling endeavour for all, the precious hours end for the day; undoubtedly, leaving behind a joyful experience; while the challenge await the next morn of moulding the restless minds once again in this difficult time.
