In Sri Lanka, Doon International School, HMT Srinagar has received 'Award for Excellence in Education-2023' during 2nd Indo-Lanka Education Summit Award Ceremony-2023 organised recently in presence of Sri Lankan Education Minister, Arvind Kumar, State Minister of Technology, Kanaka Herath and Sri Lankan Cabinet Minister of justice, Prisons Altairs and Constitutional reforms Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe. With the efforts of Sri Lankan Prime Minister, Dinesh Gunawardena. the summit-2023 organised with a grand success.
Invited as a special guest, Mr Showkat Hussain Khan Chairman of Doon International School Srinagar was extremely proud to share the achievement and the prestigious award. Talking about his mission, Mr Showkat Hussain khan, won thousands of hearts in the gathering by saying that his sole desire is to make every student a winner. Mr Showkat Hussain khan also invited Education Minister, A. Arvind Kumar to visit Srinagar.
He further added that it is the moment of pride and joy not just for the school or for the state but for the nation. He said that Doon Srinagar is probably one of the few institutions in Kashmir that allow students to have flexible coursework and customize their curriculum to meet their needs and building leadership experience through workshops, programs, events, activities, and specific child centric curriculum is more effective after their recent partner collaboration with Cambridge International with the aim to bring international curriculum and exchange programs for the local community.
