Awareness Programme on “Modern Day Addictions”

One day awareness programme on “Modern Day Addictions” particularly on Drug Abuse Prevention, was held at Doon School Srinagar. Dr Abdul Majid, Professor and HOD Psychiatry SKIMS Medical College was invited as a chief guest for creating awareness about the ill effects of drugs and alcohol consumption. Dr Majid interacted with the students and made them aware of the risks associated with drug use. Further in his speech, he made students aware of how to recognise the signs of drug addiction and abuse so that they can get help if needed.

Mr Showket Khan, Chairman of Doon School Srinagar expressed his vote of thanks to the chief guest, Dr Majid, for accepting the invitation and for being here with the DIS family. Mr Showket expressed his views and stated that youth are the largest force in our nation and it must be directed positively for their happy, healthy and holy life. He further stated that youth only can save themselves by conducting large no. of events campaigning an anti-drug message to make a significant impact on society.
