Investiture Ceremony

Doon School Srinagar, observed the Investiture ceremony for the session 2022, in the month of April. The Investiture ceremony is a significant occasion during which all of the young students prepare to take on the mantle of leadership and fulfill the obligations bestowed upon them by the school. Our school recognizes the emerging young leaders and thereby, celebrates the occasion with great passion and dignity.
The ceremony began with the unfurling of the School Flag by the Chairman, Mr Showkat Hussain, the Principal, Mr Mehfooz Aslam and the Vice Principal, Ms Nowsheen Bashir;  after which the school choir recited a melodious prayer. The elected leaders’ month-long ardous screening and voting process came to a threshold on the day of the event, where they were conferred with badges and sashes by Honourable Chairman, Principal and Vice Principal. The newly elected students’ council took a pledge to uphold the school values and principles,  to be impartial and honest in discharging the duties and to recognize that it’s not just about the titles but with position comes responsibilities towards the school peers and management.
The majestic march by the students/prefects, in sync with the beating of the drums was a spectacular event which set a mood of zest and zeal for the event. The outgoing head boy and head girl shared their thoughtful experience and gratitude to the students, teachers and the management. The Chairman, the Principal and the Vice Principal entrusted the newly appointed head boy/head girl, house prefects and other chosen leaders in completing their responsibilities in the year ahead and balance these opportunities with academics in excel in both. The main objective of this rigorous selection of students’ council is to provide a gateway to all the students in the administrative body and decision-making.
The Head boy- Tafazal Ali Mir, the Head Girl - Batool Fatima (Grade 12th), Sports Captain -Mujtaba Hassan Wani, Farwah Zehra (Grade 12th ) and the Discipline Secretaries - Burhan and and Bilquees (Grade 12th), promised to shoulder their responsibilities firmly and efficiently, and also raised the spirit to carry out their duties with integrity, faith and excellence.
