International Worker's Day

“Dare to be honest, and fear no labour.” - Robert Burns
International Workers Day, also known as Labour Day is celebrated on 1st May every year all over the world to acknowledge and reinforce the credentials attributed to all the workers and to express gratitude for their tireless efforts which greatly contributes to the upliftment and growth of the Nation.
Doon International School always strives to instill great values and constantly iterates to uphold these values of humanity and dignity of labour in students. These values were very evidently demonstrated by the students as they celebrated the International Workers’ Day, under the guidance of respected Vice Principal, Ms Nowsheen Bashir and Teachers. Nothing could stop the zeal of the young students of Wilmot Wing and they involved themselves in various activities to pay tribute to all who selflessly serve for the betterment of the Nation. These activities were designed to create a better understanding of the labour community among the students. A plethora of activities was conducted for the students and they enthusiastically participated in these activities such Expressing gratitude, Self Composed Poems, Slogans etc. The Chairperson of the school, Mr Showkat Hussain Khan appreciated the efforts of the Students and had a great time having a word with the drivers, peons and aunties that work perpetually for the organization. As a token of love and appreciation some mundane articles, contributed by students and school management, were distributed amongst the members of labour team by the school management.
The supremacy of this day can be well encapsulated with the marvy thoughts of Mahatma Gandhi “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.
