Orientation (LPD)

November 19th, 2022, a special welcome into a lively, challenging, diverse, and warm community at Doon International School, Srinagar, was extended to our parents who entrusted their kids to us and became a part of the Lower Primary Department of Doon family.

The tiny feet of new Doonians were seen walking to the school building enthusiastically because this was their first day in school after getting enrollled. They wanted to see, touch and experience almost all that they saw around. This was the occasion of the orientation day for LPD new entrants. The Vice Principal, Ms Nowsheen Bashir ushered in, to welcome the parents. While laying stress upon the importance of the first day of the child in school, she warmly welcomed every parent from the depths of her heart. She spoke about the systems of the school and the methods for communication with the school authorities and faculty. After her welcome, Mr Mehfooz Aslam, Director, Wilmot Wing of Doon School, was requested to hold the mic and take the audience to the nostalgic lanes of Doon School since its inception. With the help of a slideshow, Mr Aslam brought the parents and the school closer. The presentation gave a vivid display of the awards and achievements that the school has achieved so far. Almost all aspects of a school were encompassed in his crisp talk.

The parents were introduced to the need and practice of Cambridge Early Years of Learning syllabus. The Tie-up between Wilmot Foundation, Akbar Memorial Trust and Cambridge Early Years were explained at length.
