Earth Day 2023 was marked by an awe-inspiring series of
celebrations at Doon International School, Srinagar on the 22nd of April
’23 . The event was conducted within the school premises wherein
different activities were conducted by different classes. The
Pre-Primary cherubs wallowed in different fun activities like bookmark
making and sponge dabbing based on the theme ‘The Green Earth’. Saplings
were planted in the earthen pots by the children, which were later
placed in the school garden. A special assembly was also conducted by
the Pre primary students in the Wilmot Block.
Students of other classes made posters on Earth Day and wrote Slogans for a cleaner and greener Earth.
An
Essay Writing Competition was held for Grade VIII & IX, wherein
they were exhorted to share their postulations about the Earth and its
condition and what they feel is the pressing priority to remediate it.
The
senior grade students participated in an Inter-House Debate Competition
on topic – Climate Change is the Biggest Issue in the Human History.
The day was marked not only by awareness but also enthusiasm on the part of the students.
