Orientation for new
enrolled students is the first welcoming step necessary for the parent-teacher
interaction/collaboration. Doon International School hosted an orientation
programme on 23rd of November, 2021 to
familiarise the parents with the school's ethos, principles, functioning and
regulations.
The orientation began
at 11:45 a.m. in the school auditorium. Ms. Iqra Syed, coordinator of
Grade I and II, gave the opening statement at the orientation. She
gave the audience an overview of the school's goal and vision. She emphasised
the psychological development of a growing youngster. Mr. Mehfooz
Aslam, Principal, DIS Srinagar, gave a brief overview of the school's
accomplishments in previous years, including a peek of honours obtained at the
international, national, and state levels. He also informed the audience about
the exceptional accomplishments of kids in both academics and extracurricular
activities. Ms. Nowsheen Bashir, Vice Principal, DIS Srinagar, discussed
holistic development in relation to the school's scholastic and co-scholastic
approach to students' overall growth and assessment. Mr. Showkat
Hussain Khan, Chairman, DIS Srinagar, highlighted the school's vision
and mission, as well as MS Dhoni Cricket Academy, and the school's future plan
of action, in terms of both academics and co-curricular activities. Marking the
occasion, he apprised the parents about major introductions for forth coming session.
Firstly, the new building for LPD section full of state of art features needed
for modern education, Secondly, Introduction of Arabic as a language meant for
functional communication for students desirous of seeking movement and work in
Middle Eastern countries and the most important announcement was that the
school has strengthened the ties with educational setup frpom England and Doon
School would go through a sea change nin educational syllabus and methodology
from the commencing session. . Ms. Shazia Khan, LPD Coordinator, verbalized
the way parents can correspond with teachers via SchoolPad and GCR. She also
informed them about the school email addresses created by the administration
and presented her staff to the parents. Ms. Iqra Syed gave a vote of gratitude
at the end of the orientation.
The programme went
off without a hitch. Overall, it was éclat, full of exuberance and excitement,
and the parents were immensely involved throughout the orientation session.
