The students of Doon International School, Srinagar yet again brought a lot of fame and glory to the school by participating in various skiing courses from January 13 to 27. Our students took part in different skiing course and achieved top positions. The participants of these courses were trained by IISM, a renowned institute of mountaineering and skiing.
DC Baramulla and Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar, the chairman of the IISM, visited Gulmarg to celebrate the 2nd Annual Ski Course of the institute. Over 80 students from various parts of the country participated in the course. The institute's CEO, Dr. Abid Rashid Shah, and Director of Jal Jeevan Mission were also present at the event. Colonel J S Dhillon who has revived this institute welcomed the guests and briefed them about the institute and various activities being undertaken by it.
The school management complemented the students and appreciated their interest in this valuable course that is important not only in the promotion of adventure tourism but also in the development of overall personality through exposure to challenging weather conditions in extreme cold temperatures.
