Continuing the tradition of presentations in Doon International School, Srinagar, November 10, 2022, marked the day our students of Grade 1st and 2nd had their presentations varied across different themes and areas. The parents gathered in the auditorium and waited anxiously for the wards to emerge from the curtains and actualized the theory in the form of songs, dance and skits. The students were excited to showcase their talents. The byproduct of the show was the curiosity of the parents and their enthusiasm. The expectations of the parents and the teachers finally got a vent as truly on the stage, as they saw the students live up the parts of their lessons in a captivating way. Be it ‘the shapes’, ‘the transportation’ or other lessons in Urdu and English, all came alive in expressions and acting. The entire show was riveting! The Welcome Speech was given by Mr Mehfooz Aslam, the Director of Wilmot Wing of Doon School, Srinagar. It was followed by the School Anthem, Naat recitation and Shabadh. Students dressed in Rapunzel dresses and Cinderella dresses gave a fairytale aura to the stage. The audience consisting of parents as well the teachers’ in-charge was left mesmerized at the very sight. The students were also dressed in traditional attires as part of their presentations showcasing different states/UTs of India, ranging from J&K, Ladakh, Punjab, Bengal, Gujrat and many more. ‘Mei boaj ni houn’ around the theme of saving a girl child was narrated by one of the lovely kids. The enthralling performance brought catharsis to the audience and they were educated about Kabir Das and Baghat Singh. The Chairman, Mr Showkat Hussain Khan, encouraged both the children and the parents drawing the fact out that the little ones nowadays are getting such opportunities in the school which were nascent in schools in the past. He appreciated the efforts of the faculty to groom the little ones in such short period. The kind words and gratitude presented in the Vote of Thanks by Ms Nowsheen Bashir, Vice Principal, wrapped up the entire occasion. The presentations were appreciated by one and all present there.
Congratulations to the hard work of teachers and students equally and the spirits behind!
