The Kindergarten Wing of Doon School, Srinagar, celebrated Baisakhi, in the early morning of Saturday, with great enthusiasm. Children were acquainted with the importance of the festival by showcasing the Punjabi culture throughout the programme. The energy was heightened by dhol beats and Punjabi traditional music. Children were dressed in colourful Punjabi traditional attires and stalls of a variety of colourful items were set up by them to portray the unerring picture of a baisakhi market place. The motive behind the celebrations was to apprise the children of this rich culture and heritage.
It was overwhelming to see these tiny tots dancing and singing, and their faces beaming with joy and excitement while presenting their speeches and songs on the stage.
