NEW EDUCATION POLICY
“Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself”.
The New Education Policy session was held on 22nd February 2023 at Doon International School, Srinagar in the presence of Honorable Vice Principal, Ms. Nowsheen Bashir. Mr. Shafi conducted this session on ‘New Education Policy 2020’ with all the teachers as his attendees, who supported the session by participating and making the session more productive.
Key areas that were discussed in this session are as followings:
- Replacement of National Education Policy 1986
- New Education Policy recommended by Dr. Kasturirangan.
- Technological changes over a period of time that completely changed the traditional education system.
- Right to education act 2009 was also discussed.
- Draft/ pillars of NEP 2020 namely (equity, accountability, accessibility and quality).
The session completely focussed on the objectives of the NEP 2020, Where the stages of NEP 2020 were highlighted:
- Research based on Pedagogy and curriculum.
- Skilled development
- Innovation
- Activity based
- Quality education.
The
session allowed teachers to ruminate several ideas for future learning on how
to deal with the learners based on the NEP 2020, also will help teachers to
formulate their lesson plans in a more pragmatic manner, which will emphasise learners’
self-capabilities and concept-based learning rather than rote learning
techniques.
