Commerce Department of Doon School Srinagar organised the
industrial tour today on 2nd September, 2023. The students of Grade
11 and Grade 12 of commerce visited the renowned name in furniture industry, Greenscape,
headquartered at Industrial Estate Khanmoh.
The main theme of the visit was to give a practical field
experience to the students regarding the business operations. Students were
inducted and oriented with the capital intensive techniques of furniture
manufacturing by going through the detailed manufacturing process. They were
exposed to the first hand experience of manufacturing particle boards and MDF
technology. The tour guide of the organization gave a thorough information
about the logistics of their organization which involved their Capital
Structure, Financial Management, Asset Management, Expansion Policies and Sales
Promotion. The students had a first hand experience about the day to day
operations of a business organization and its management. It was a worthwhile
experience and the department felt enriched with field knowledge and exposure.
The Co-owner, Mr Jahangir,
was highly cooperative and was keen to share his words of wisdom with the
students.
