It was a towering moment for Doon International School Srinagar to provide an opportunity to its students to meet the eminent cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya. As the school had organised an exhibition, the students displayed their project works and interacted with the legendary cricketer. The Chief Guest inaugurated the school’s digital library.
Mr. Jayasurya while addressing the gathering, also shared some interesting anecdotes with the students regarding his experiences as a cricketer. While expressing his admiration for the Valley’s beauty, he thanked the school management for such a warm welcome and an exceptional hospitality.
Parents had an enthralling experience of being a part of this event, as they too interacted with the Chief Guest.
Being impressed at the school’s dedication towards fulfilling the international academic norms as well as promoting student’s proactive involvement in sports, the Chief Guest advised the students to take the maximum benefit from the opportunities provided by the institution.
The project works of science, languages, mathematics, and social studies were showcased. It was an engaging part of the event as the students very ardently explained their respective works to the spectators. A soulful rendition by different choir groups, reciting Urdu Mushaira, Kashmiri poetry, musical skits, received deep appreciation from the visitors.
