Raksha Bandhan was observed in
Doon School Srinagar on Thursday, August 11, 2022. The words "raksha"
and "bandhan" indicate protection and bond respectively. It is a
celebration of a special bond of love and harmony between brothers and sisters.
This event occurs in August. Additionally, this event is known by several names
around the nation. This holiday is referred to as ‘Kajri Purnima’ or ‘Rakhi
Purnima’ by some people. People worship Lord Shiva on this day. The sisters
prepare a thali, or plate, with diya, roli, and Rakhis in accordance with
tradition. They then pray to God before tying Rakhi to the brothers and wishing
them well. In response, the brother expresses his appreciation for the sister's
affection by promising to stand by her side no matter what and by giving her a
present as a token of love. To highlight the importance of the event, the
children presented a brief skit in the morning assembly. A student representing
a sister tied a vibrant Rakhi around her brother's wrist. The brother took a
vow to protect her and gave her assurance that he would guard her during any
crisis. The students sung songs of melodious tunes and gave a speech in
commemoration of the day. The colorful attires and innocent smiles brightened
the ambience and lifted the spirit of the students.
