Muharram marks the first month of the Islamic calendar, also known as the period of mourning for the Shia Muslim Community commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (R.A), the son of Hazrat Ali and the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H).
On August 17th, 2022, Students of Doon School Srinagar conducted a special assembly on account of Muharram. The students enlightened the audience by highlighting the rituals followed by Muslims on this day and by narrating Shahaada. The soothing voices echoed across the Doon Premises as the students recited Hadees, Kiraat and Kalimah.
