Rightly said that school camps expose students to first-hand situations, hard tasks and developing their own solutions – experiences that no classroom lecture can offer. Kindergarteners need an equal exposure to become their independent selves and to instill essential virtues in them. On 23rd July, 2022, Doon School organized an In-house summer camp for LKG to 3rd Class. Students had to reach the school at around 9am where they had to get themselves registered. It followed by settling the students down in their respective classes followed by snack time.
The excitement spread in the air as children from classes LKG and UKG were taken to the playground for a set of outdoor activities like - Pick up the alphabets, colour balls, mixture of hurdles, whereas for Grades I and II, Leaf painting, collage, paint to music and for Grade 3rd, Rangoli, Stone Art and Thread painting were the planned indoor games.
The summer heat was suppressed as students were taken for Swimming. The playground gave a nostalgic feel of a traditional fair with the modern twist as students had a fun time in the train ride and jumbo inflatable slide bouncy along with activities like Tug of war, sack race and Leap frog.
The shenanigans came to a halt at around as they had their appetizing lunch. After an hour of Slumber Time, the activities bounced back again- Alphabet Art, Balloon Painting, Clay modeling, Paperball, balancing, cups overload, targeting among others. The delectable snacks were served afterwards.
The evening activities scheduled was the Musical squid, Musical Chair, Antakshari, Mashup singing, Jugalbandi and Passing the pillow and entertaining and thrilling movie time. Children dressed up in colourful costumes as candles were lighted on stage and the whole playground became illuminated. Meanwhile children had their dinner and the night ended with a DJ party.
On 24th, July, 2022, students woke up to the bell at 5:30pm and got ready for a morning walk in and around the school campus. Warm-up session and Zumba energized the kids and they were served the last meal of their In-house camp, the breakfast. The parents came to pick them up and overall, the students had the time of their lives.
