Online life has to return to offline stream.
Today on 21st August, 2021, Doon School Srinagar took the initiative to host Inter-school Debate offline. Presentation convent, Minto Circle ,G.D. Goenka, Kashmir Harvard, Green Valley and Doon school participated. The Titans of eloquence and wit clashed through spellbound speeches and rebuttals.
The judges for the occasion, eminent Professor madam Lily Want and renowned TV scribe Mr. Gowhar Geelani had to undergo the tough brain storming to declare the winners after three rounds of shortlisting speakers on the basis of marks obtained. In a neck to neck race finally the results were:
Doon School picked the trophy.
The Individual positions were:
1. Winner: Simra Sikander from Doon International School Srinagar.
2. Runner up: Hareem from Minto Circle.
3. Best speaker: Zainab Ul- Kubra from Green Valley.
The topic for the first round was "Artificial Intelligence- A boon or a Bane?” In the other two rounds, (semifinals and finals), the speakers had to make the impromptu deliveries. The debate had a live coverage too. The level of matter and delivery was that of a very high standard. All present appreciated the effort and initiative by the host school.
