PTMs are an essential part of parental-teacher collaboration as it can boost family involvement in the classroom and can help promote positive outcomes for the child as well as for the teaching-learning process. It is a great opportunity to share academic progress and growth based on classroom observations, assessments, portfolios and assignments. The parents as well as teachers, also discuss issues that may be interfering with students’ learning and growth. Doon School Srinagar, wrapped off the Mid Term Examination, 2022, with a PTM across Grades I through X on August 5th & 6th, 2022, with special emphasis on creating a platform, where teachers and parents came together to discuss student’s performance academically and devised ways to enrich this learning experience. Parents were encouraged to appreciate students’ participation in all academic & co-curricular activities. An indication that the child is not making progress was addressed as well. This helped to create necessary consciousness among them to stimulate their interest in their wards and the school. The PTM concluded that combined efforts of parents and teachers are essential and beneficial for students’ optimal development and progress.
