On 6th of October a workshop was conducted in Doon School Srinagar for training the teachers in new teaching skills that would be needed in the implementation of National Educational Policy. Ms. Vineeta Sareen, the resources person for the day, gave a detailed lecture on the new policy and the skills it encompasses. The new educational policy focuses on a holistic development of children catering to their physical, mental, emotional, social, spiritual development. The workshop engaged the teachers in various activities in order to trigger their creative and analytical thinking. The workshop also focused on developing such skills in the students and thereby preparing them for the upcoming SAFAL evaluation in particular and for life in general. The participating teacher displayed enthusiasm and active indulgence. The workshop ended with a ‘box drawing activity’ testing teachers’ listening, critical and analytical thinking skills.
